They knew in 2023 that one of the largest datasets for imagery training contained links to CSAM. To make matters worse there's no way of knowing what the private AI firms have been training on since www.theverge.com/2023/12/20/2...

I know what you're thinking - sure it doesn't look great in still shots, but when she talks I bet it all comes together...

Everything's very horrible right now, so I'm cheering myself up by rememberin that time the BBC put actress Roxanne Pallett in the least convincing prosthetics imaginable, so she could experience the world 'as a 90yr old'.

My favourite part is when Angela 'gets a feeling' from a skull that the face of a 10 year old victim should actually look like this (and she is correct)

I didn't even know the Zip 250 was a thing! I only ever had the 100 and all the PCs we had at college had Zip Drives, so I got an internal one around the same time. I just adored them.

This was one of my earliest 3ds max renders, circa 2000?

When our daughter was at nursery, they kept crayons in one of these tubs & a staff member commented that she kept pointing at it and saying "Daddy" so they knew I "must eat a lot of chocolate!". I explained that it was because I made the artwork on it & was met with this EXACT reaction 🥲

This is one of those cases where, having started out in 3D around 1994-95, I spent *decades* having to model things manually and even now, it's a nice skillset to have.

For example, I painstakingly modelled this chocolate poly by poly 20+ years ago 💀

#tbt to when I created the illustrations for Cadbury's Heroes.

I always struggle to explain what I do for a living, so there was a lovely 6 year period where I could say "Oh, I made the artwork on the Christmas Heroes tubs!", only for people to slowly back away from me, in fear...

Good times!
