When I started back in 2014 you you could make a livable wage simply making & selling art with a lot of hard work. Now you have to also be an amazing content creator on multiple platforms, expand into avenues that feel disingenuous, & compete against AI & Temu. It’s untenable & exhausting.

Been a little quieter than usual because I actually started a new job last week which I am incredibly thankful for. Trying to make a livable wage as a creative has always been hard but holy hell it is so much harder nowadays. I would have loved to be able to do it again but there’s just no way.

Starting fresh on a new platform feels strange. I never know if it’ll be “worth it” for my business but after a decade on insta it doesn’t feel “safe” anymore. I won’t touch X & TikTok felt like a fever dream from hell. I also can’t afford to not have insta but I’m hoping this will be a bright spot.
