Reposting this open postdoc position with more detailed specifications. Couldn't find the right fit in the first round—not due to lack of strong candidates, but because we're looking for someone whose expertise matches a specific project. More details in the job ad. Apply!

I keep getting this same paragraph in emails from prospective students asking for positions in my lab:

Like, word for word.
“I am very interested in working in your lab at SDSDU. I read your recent paper on the escape behaviors of urban and non-urban wall lizards (Brock and Bednekoff 2025), and I found it particularly interesting that the distance of flight initiation increased with substrate temperature increases instead of decreasing. I am especially interested in your lab’s research on the influence of urbanization on populations.”

A study in Nature Climate Change shows that dragonfly species with mating-associated wing ornamentation have disproportionately gone extinct and lost habitat because of climate change and wildfire. go.nature.com/4nvkfDS 🔒
This is figure 1, which shows ornamented dragonfly species have been disproportionately lost from locations with the greatest temperature increase and the most wildfire activity since the 1980s.

Interested in measuring trees and branches from Lidar data? Don't want to use Matlab? (who does).

Take a look at our new Python package for reconstructing trees from point cloud data using quantitative structure models (QSM's).
