I'm thinking that this "painting" in our hotel bedroom is AI. In particular, is that a tiny umbrella or a weird umbrella hat?? Also what's in her arm?

Any unintelligible items in these sorts of images I'm just going to call "gibberish" because it's just random shapes that you can't tell what it is.

I introduced my husband to the song Starlight by Muse yesterday and now he apparently has it on loop while he showers.

Meanwhile I'm being taken back 20 years ago to when I was 17. 😵‍💫

Another UI thing I hate, when I press the "share" button on a photo on my phone, the quick select options are: Email it, send it to my friend's 17 year old, upload it to Google Drive, send it to my coworker, send it to a random internet acquaintance on Snapchat, send it to the survey coordinator […]

it's truly amazing what LLMs can achieve. we now know it's possible to produce an html5 parsing library with nothing but the full source code of an existing html5 parsing library, all the source code of all other open source libraries ever, a meticulously maintained and extremely comprehensive […]

#ai / #llm propaganda is so insidiously effective even for laypeople.

I’ve had multiple conversations with family members who: don’t speak English, don’t own computers (only mobile phones), and barely spend time online.

I told them that I am no longer working with most tech company clients […]

I'm often surprised when I see an Esperanto thing and the author is a name I recognize. Mostly because we all add each other on Facebook. But I'll look through the Esperanto magazine or see a project and be like "I know that name!"

I was thinking yesterday about how humans love cycles (i.e., each week has a routine, each year has a routine), and was wondering if we had made weeks shorter, if we would have still been like "two days for rest" then have like a four day week where we get halfsies for rest.

IDK vote for me and […]

I started playing 7 Billion Humans on my phone again. I had played it years ago on PC but got stuck. I thought I was doing really well this time but got stuck again... Opened up the game on my computer and I'm stuck in the exact same spot in the red section. 😭 No brain evolution here.

My list of albums on my phone aren't presented in alphabetical order and there's no sort option and it's ticking me off.

I'm getting really tired of devs not implementing sortability on tables on websites either.

And of course barely anything has bulk edit features anymore.

Honestly if we offered a burger in the U.S. that had a patty that was just a big block of fried cheese it would still do really well.

I really am food motivated, all I'm looking forward to right now is my next (veg) burger. :')

the AI slop in security reports have developed slightly over time. Less mind-numbingly stupid reports now, but instead almost *everyone* writes their reports with AI so they still get overly long and complicated to plow through. And every follow-up question is another minor essay discussing pros […]
