Another thing that helps with that is always establishing a ground plane and planting your figures in 3D space. Understanding how to fit them in the world helps establish a scene beautifully.

So much easier to make things bigger when you know what the bases look like.

It took me an embarrassing amount of time to TRULY understand that breasts attach to the pecs.

It is worth noting that this goes as much for writing comics as it does drawing them.

It's imperative to imagine panel layouts and breakdowns, understanding how much text can be readable on a page and similar when you're working in the medium. And the best way to learn?

Experience.

Practicing anatomy will help you get better at anatomy, but anatomy isn't as important when it comes to things like panel layout, storytelling and composition.

Anatomy is important, but it doesn't necessarily equal better skills in composing a scene.
