We can't expect others to truly understand how loud the trauma "noise" in our head is. We are responding to conditioning that is VERY effective in hijacking our attention & physiology.
This is why we can't just "gut" or "vibe" our way through recovery-- we need plans & tools.

I think the worst part about recovering from trauma is that you never feel safe. Every kind word or good deed feels like a lie or an obligation rather than genuine or from the heart.

I don't know who needs to hear this but you don't need to be productive all the time. You're allowed to have a slow life and you're still worthy of love when you don't have something to offer. You deserve love just by being alive. This includes love to yourself.

The big daily task for many trauma survivors that goes unacknowledged by others in their sphere is how to realistically manage thoughts & feelings, while coping w/ physical fatigue, pain, & other limitations not even their own health care providers adequately understand or treat.
