A bulleted list of inaccurate claims the original poster has heard/seen people say about Estimeric (the romantic ship between Aymeric de Borel & Estinien Varlineau from the video game Final Fantasy XIV. The list is written in white text against a black background, and reads as follows: • "Estimeric's only so popular because yaoi-brained fan girls wanna use two random hot guys to fetishize gay people!" • "Aymeric & Estinien are bad for each other because Estinien's an unreliable & disdainful character who shuns/acts violently towards his allies, while Aymeric's a manipulative politician & a bad person who forced us to be adopted by House Fortemps." My humble opinion on "Wuk Lamat vs. Krile" discourse. 😒
A screenshot of text originally written & shared on the original poster's Tumblr. It reads as follows: "But Dawntrail was supposed to be KRILE'S expansion before Wuk Lamat stole it from her!!! 😡" 1. No one stole anything from anyone. YOU made assumptions about the plot based on promotional material, & you were incorrect. We already did this goofy song & dance with the "Hydaelyn was supposed to be the REAL villain!!" crowd: your predictions about the plot not becoming canon =/= automatic bad writing or retcons. 2. Could some of Dawntrail's story beats been better paced & divided? Sure, I can agree with that: there were definitely parts I felt were a bit rushed. But at the end of the day, I'm glad newer characters got most of the screentime, rather than it being hoarded by those that have already had arcs in previous expansions. 3. "The expansion that introduces a nation/characters based largely on pre-colonial America should've been primarily focused on the British-adjacent white girl I already know" is NOT the winning take you think it is. Maybe go unpack that, yeah? 🤨
