Saw something white scamper off under the window out of the corner of my eye with next door's cat in hot pursuit. Knocked on the window to distract the cat, whereupon the white blur resolved into a ferret, which immediately turned the tables and chased the cat back in the direction they'd come.

I was already amused by how the Transport for Wales app reliably notifies you there are no delays on your route just as you arrive, rather before you leave when it would be useful, but this morning it did it as I got off a train that was an hour late. It was so perfectly timed I wasn't even mad.

It's been a long week but a very small kitten took a nap in my lap today and that made up for a lot.

The weather is so dreadful even my violin can't cope. It's so out of tune, it sounds like a cello in a hat and a false mustache.
(I got three strings sorted but the fourth was so far gone it came off the tuning peg, so now I have to learn how to restring a violin, which will be a new experience.)

A very underappreciated part of being an adult is that when the size tag in your pyjamas suddenly feels wildly annoying even though you have worn them before and they were fine, you can just grab a seam ripper and take that bastard right out. No one can stop you. It's great.

I upset someone when I pulled the wildly overgrowing weeds out of the driveway, and they're now determinedly making their way up this wall, presumably in search of a better vantage point to survey the new state of things. Sorry, buddy.

Having now properly read my pattern instructions, I see a ton of handsewing in my immediate future. Good thing I find that kinda meditatively soothing. I swear I was actively trying to cut corners on this project, given the time available and single-weekend non-historically accurate use....

At that early stage of a sewing project that's about equal measures 'sure, just need to buy some fabric, it's fine' and 'I have no idea how to do this and need to learn some new skills very quickly'. I've known about this since April, so obviously I'm only picking it up now...

There was a cheap wifi extender in the Aisle of Things You Didn't Know You Needed in Lidl and now I can actually get enough connection for video upstairs. It's a whole new world.
