This collage wasn’t turning out the way I had hoped but I kept going because the making and creating is where peace and calm and therapy is. And then I gave it away because I didn’t want to look at it anymore.
What’s next?

TikTok going dark brings good reminders. 1. The work we do, the connections made, the stories told, the emotions we have are real. But the platforms are not ours or under our control. We have to adjust accordingly and adapt. 2. The timing, politics, and reality of who controls the message is noted.

A pond reflection on Cape Cod. I am trying to be less exact and more abstract. Just wish the modge podge didn’t show so much. Still working on technique.

Obsessed with collages using old scrapbook paper right now. Sent the kids back to their colleges this weekend so it’s a good time to get back to creating things. This is another, more abstract, Cape Cod bay.

Moving into this phase for our country with boundaries. I’m going to change my response to the stories designed to outrage. Allow the essentials, leave the rest. The stress of it can’t own me. Then foster positivity where I can, call out hate where I can. Also ART when I can’t do anything else.

Art and scraps of paper and modge podge and the Cape Cod places in my mind are the answer.

Here for what’s next, for reminders of good, for things OTHER than terrible headlines, for a healthier scroll, for standards of kindness and respect, for something better during a very, VERY uncertain future. And I also may not be here much at all as I pull back, reset, and go outside instead.
