(6) And because people will be hurting, they’ll support it whereas before they fought against it.

(5) Enter the private sector: mining, oil & gas, ranching, all those protected lands can now be sold-off to “benefit the local economy better”. The parks budgets can be reduced…

(4) But I see a more sinister motive here. If you can crash the parks’ revenue for a year and show a decline in visitors, you “prove” they are too costly to keep operating and that local communities need better sources of income…

(3) Not to mention the number of small communities who rely on tourism dollars to support local economies. No tourism = no income. How is this putting America first again?

(2) US international tourism is already suffering under the Trump admin. The National Parks were already a draw but now folks may not be able to afford to go… that will drive down NPS revenues more. At a time when the Parks need *more* investments…

Looks like it also disables spelling/grammar and like package tracking. If so, they really are making it difficult to disable…

It’s all an open grift now. And they got their supporters to see it as “just restitution” against the deep state.

They are complicit. They aren’t this naive. Best take that makes sense: they want the ACA costs to go up so they can campaign on it. Tin foil hat claim, sure. But at this point, makes sense since they can fundraise off it.

And lest we forget, #MLB made "record profits" just in 2024 to a tune of $12.1B! So when you hear about cries from ownership for a "salary cap"... don't believe them. www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mlb...
MLB reports record $12.1 billion in revenues for 2024 season
The league is incredibly healthy right now and revenues have gone up more than 33% in the last 10 years

He's retiring and he doesn't care. He caved on the first funding bill too. They got "a promise" to vote separately on the ACA funding; I can call the outcome of that.

Hope he never eats a peaceful meal in Illinois again. Hope every restaurant loses his reservation.

Americans in general have a cruel obsession with “perfection”. We are cruel to folks who are fat, disabled, sick, or anything that is not 110% fit for labor.

This does not surprise me sadly; it will now be policy.
