Western Syria, you are shunned and imprisoned for being anything but Muslim. I went to eastern Syria where the local government is trying to build a land that people and practice what they want to practice. There’s good happening you just don’t see it.

I think such distinctions do matter. I met the best and nicest people in the world while I was over there and I’d fight for them again if they needed me to.

I think you are confusing individualism with the establishment. You can dislike the establishment. But saying that is a reach. There’s 18-21 year old kids who will forever be that because they went over hoping to help someone. Be upset at the higher echelon, not the guys who are forced to suffer.

What about the people who never left the CONUS? The people who went overseas on humanitarian missions? The military isn’t all kicking in doors. I was handing out food and water, helping rebuild an economy and I still got bombed more times than I can count. Unless you were there, you don’t know.

I mean there is. As a veteran I’m upset, I’ve lost more friends to suicide than I did combat. I don’t agree with fighting hate with hate on a platform used to build community
