Aging queer thrasher (he/him), writer, noise maker, one time front row prop (rugby 🏉), long time warrior/fighter against the black dog - life's a battle, never give up the fight.
Syd would've been 80 today. SHINE ON.

First cultural buys of the year. Those albums were released last year and highly praised, whilst I can tick another John Carpenter off the list.

Lost Phil Lynott 40 years ago today, so let's put on some Thin Lizzy on on the turntable.

I wrote, I drew, wrote some more, went through old notebooks...good start to the new year.

The last hours of the year are ticking by and a new year begins. I've had moments, good and bad and not enough space here to go into detail. Just take it day by day, its all I can do. So on that note, 'ave a good 'un 😉🍻

Went out for a walk, only to return with these finds.

Currently playing in the gaff. Now that they've reformed, what are the chances that I'll get to see them live.

Happy Yuletide to you all x

Bought as empty pages but now full of prose and images. Won't be put with the rest because much of it demands further work and hopefully shared. Have a great Xmas 🍻🍻

Whilst my food is in the oven, good excuse to make some noise. Enjoy!

With the soundtracks to The Wickerman and Hellraiser playing and a fine read, its the perfect afternoon.

Like to think those of a spiritual kind will like this.

Finally got round to watching this cult classic, another one ticked off that 'must watch' list that keeps growing.

Some might know this, but he's a talented novelist.
Mick Foley has parted ways from the WWE because of their close ties with Trump.

Wrote a poem about these things. A work in progress, but its a good 'un in rough form.

Some telly and a few of these; chilled out evening.

When people put on their socials what they listen to the most on Spotify, I don't feel left out because I'd rather read the lyrics, thank lists, study the artwork etc whilst listening. This stack is barely a quarter of what I've been ludtening to this year.

Another reissue in my collection and possibly worth every penny. Had it on vinyl then CD, but lets be honest here - the live album belongs to the long player format and this is the truly last great live album.

Because it doesn't get the attention it once had, doesn't mean that its vanished. Lets remember those whom we lost to the virus.

Currently on the turntable. Been wanting this in my collection the moment it was reissued.

Been wanting to see this for ages. If I hadn't picked up that copy of Ecstasy on a whim (because Trainspotting was out of stock), I wouldn't have that creative outlet that kept me going following a breakdown. Despite everything, I chose life @irvinewelsh.bsky.social

Was meant to do a video but the battery in my effects unit gave up. So a selfie it is with my bass of choice. BTW there's a programme on Sky Arts about bass and if course, I shall be watching.

Found this in CEX (2nd hand) and bought it (obvioulsy). That's my evening sorted.

Listening to their new album in many years with the classic line up, hand on heart, it was like time travel, between 92 and 95 when they were on top of their game and the mosh pits (on screen) were intense.
