Note that allegedly only clubs that were under the heading of "diversity " or similar word were cut, e.g., the Polish club wasn't cut not b/c it's white but b/c it wasn't labeled under DEI phrasing. Idk the veracity. Result is still horrific.

The United States Military Academy has just eliminated all Cadet clubs and activities for POC. Most of these have existed for decades like the Society of Black Engineers. They were there when I was a Cadet in 1987. All of the religious ones remain. This isn’t DEI. It’s white Christian Nationalism.

Re: cancelation of Black History Month. It's one thing to understand the warnings intellectually, or even feel the fear. But the abolishing of a celebration so universally, often perfunctorily observed, hits different. Pride is on the block. Women. SpEd. Is the ADA next? Degenerate Art?

Friends, what if we pray for the birds? Light candles for them, put their images on our altars, speak well-wishes to them as they fly past us. Hundreds of millions of them have died of avian influenza and I haven't read one news story that even acknowledges their loss.
