This one was recommended to me by a tax communications person, someone who has been helping me through all of this (not an accountant but just someone who knows things about how it works and is able to explain things to me in simple terms). Tbh I’d just look for someone who has really good reviews

She also said if the IRS tries to nag me I am legally allowed to ignore them bc I’m on a payment plan already and if they just use their eyes and see that I’m on a payment plan they can’t fine me anymore bc I’m already in the process of paying off everything I owe

Oh thank god. My new CPA is amazing and she lowered the cost down almost 50% 😮‍💨. It’s still a lot of money but SIGNIFICANTLY less, AND she’s just having me put it on a payment plan which makes things feel so much better. Thank god I found a new CPA who cares….

Update: I’m talking to a new CPA who’s helping me sort this out. Also turns out the CPA I was using is very untrustworthy and even released a bunch of private customer data so 🙃 hopefully I still don’t owe this much, but even if I do, my new cpa said it can be put on a payment plan, and she will-

I don’t know what to do about my taxes anymore…every time I think I’m doing something right, I’m not, and now I’m being told that I owe 30k+ to the IRS for federal taxes alone and that’s more than what I have to my name.
It’s possible there’s something incorrect, but I’m already past my deadline.

Also I am just horrible at organizing my tax stuff and remembering things. So a close friend helped me last night just figuring out how I can organize things better next time so it’s less stressful, so that takes a huge weight off my shoulders next time seeing how actually simple it can be

Do what she can to try and lower it. Even if not though, my plan for that is to just try to get into a lot of cons next year and use all of those funds to pay it off in large chunks. So I have a plan. Still sucks I’m having to even deal with this, but I think things will be ok.

Yeah it should be. I think I’m just doing it wrong so it’s adding up. A lot of the cost is probably fees and penalties too. But 30k feels like way too much to be accurate. I’m just worried they’re gonna make me pay it anyways since I’ve been doing it wrong.

I need to hire someone who I can just send all my transaction info to, they can add everything up for me, and then notify me or send me the bill as soon as it’s due every quarter. Part of why it got so fucked up is because I’ve had to just remember to do it on my own every time

So I used to have a CPA but he left the company bc they started releasing a bunch of private customer information. I’ve been lost on what to do since then so I’ve been rawdogging it bc I was so busy moving and have been trying to recover moving costs the past few months.

I feel so defeated. It makes me want to close my business permanently and just go do something else but I enjoy life rn and I don’t necessarily want it to change. I need to make money to pay this off, but I feel like I’m gonna keep doing things wrong and I’ll be selling my soul to the irs forever.

Idk what to do. If I have to pay this all immediately (bc I’m unfortunately already on a different payment plan to pay off taxes from 2021 when I did them wrong back then) my life is over, I’ll lose everything, all because I keep not knowing how to file my taxes or bookkeep. I just want to make art.
