The Detroit Cobras were a garage rock band formed in 1994. They are notable for their focus on playing covers of obscure and forgotten R&B and rock n roll songs from the 50s and 60s.

Marshall Crenshaw is from the Detroit suburb of Berkley. Since the 1970s he's released 14 albums charting rock hits "Someday, Someway" and "Whenever You're On My Mind". He appeared in Peggy Sue Got Married and La Bamba (playing Buddy Holly) and co wrote the Gin Blossoms hit "Til I Hear It from You"

Electric Six formed in Detroit in 1996 as Wildbunch before changing their name. They're known for their energetic and humors style, blending elements of garage, disco, punk, metal, and new wave. They've had numerous members with lead singer Dick Valentine being the only original one remaining.

The Gories are a garage punk trio from Detroit, Michigan, formed in 1986. Their unique style features two guitars and drums but no bass, emphasizing raw energy and powerful vocals. The Gories' music created a sound that significantly impacted the Detroit garage rock revival scene of the 2000s.

Although born in Battle Creek, MI, Del Shannon honed his skills by performing in Detroit and his early success was largely attributed to key figures in the Detroit music industry like Harry Balk and Irving Micahnik. Shannon's song "Runaway" went #1 in 1961.

The Romantics are a power pop/new wave band from Detroit. They draw inspiration from 50s rock, the MC5, the Stooges, Motown, and British Invasion. Known for catchy melodies, energetic performances they achieved success with hits "What I Like About You," "Talking in Your Sleep," & "One in a Million."

Figures on a Beach was formed in Detroit, Michigan in the early 1980s out of the embers of pioneering electronic group Razor 1922. The band was co-founded by vocalist and keyboardist Anthony Kaczynski and guitarist John "Rik" Rolski, (a.k.a. Ricci Ara in the earliest incarnation of FOAB).
