Swords relate to fire in the deck I'm creating—and wands to air. Hebrew lahav means both flame and blade. Brand means both sword and burning torch. Blades are forged in fire and flame-shaped. Wands, on the other hand, are wood, literally made from air.

From the tarot deck I’m creating, based on ancient magical images of the decans of the zodiac.
Adventure, journeys (inner or outer), seeking of meaning. Also feeling unlucky, thwarted purpose, risk aversion (or nihilism and risk-taking), spiritual dissatisfaction, conspiracy and cult fanaticism.
A tarot card labelled “8 Swords—Risk”. A soldier armed for battle with shields and drawn sword stands on a high place looking out. Seven enormous swords are plunged into the earth in the far distance: clouds are rising up and the landscape is split open with a red glow emerging from the depths. The 2 of wands in my deck. Based on ancient magical images of the decans of the zodiac. This is equivalent to 2 of swords in the Waite-Smith or Thoth decks, because I make wands air and swords fire.
