Just a film dork that reviews them on YouTube! Figured I'd give this Blue sky a go! Expect sharing of my movie reviews with a heavy dose of DnD, Anime, Wrestling and in general anything geeky! Ft some F1 Ice Hockey and Footy of course.
New horror #primate hits UK cinemas this Friday, and was actually the first new film I watched this year. I have finally edited my reviews and yup the bar was set low. Great concept but it doesn't fully utilize it.

Just got out of #ReturnToSilentHill and whilst it has ps1 level effects, was genuinely hard to look at at times and had so much hammy dialogue and was seemingly endless, I can at least say it tried. However it tries way too much for a 20-25 million budget to work.

Well I got home from work earlier to find the Oscar noms were out! Some huge surprises and a couple of notable snubs. Here are my first thoughts and early predictions: youtu.be/GT8lGigY6uk

Despite my mixed feelings on 28 Years Later #thebonetemple was a glorious time, complete with the most metal scene of 2026! Less of a sequel and more of a continuation of an extended movie, this was a riot!

I was mixed on Years, but #28YearsLaterTheBoneTemple has made my appreciation of the former grow. This is less a sequel and more the second act of an odyssey. Fiennes gives a knockout "how does he not have an Oscar" performance. Also has the most metal scene of the year already!

Back in the cinema full swing to make up for my lack of Paul Mescal emotional trauma last LFF. Though I hear it's Jessie Buckley that will destroy my soul in this one...

Probably the very last person to put this out! 2026 is looking particularly juicy, both in terms of franchises and originals. So I've done ten of both!

Another year of cinema is in the books! As is now tradition I did a little montage of films for the year 🙂 see you all in 2026!

It's the end of 2025 so as is tradition, it's favourite movies of the year time!

DC: still need to see Housemaid, Marty Supreme and Anaconda (just in case one of these is a certified gem).

So JC just decided to repeat the second one whilst throwing in stuff from the first. Whilst I appreciate the technical achievements and how it ties the seemingly random side quests together at the end, I truly felt that runtime #AvatarFireAndAsh

Final cinema trip before Xmas, only hear what I expect, but hoping for some surprises #NowWatching

Secret Santa coming in clutch this year ahead of 2026 🍿

Got into #CriticalRole back in lockdown during the midst of C2 and Caleb was my favorite of a stacked group of characters.

Fast forward to 2025 and seeing his backstory be brought to screen, and Notts 'parent child speech', I couldn't be friggin happier. What an episode!

Late to the party, but I am very impressed to have not seen any major spoilers for this. Here's hoping for a solid sequel! #NowWatching

Double feature of sequels today 🍿

As predicted the secret screening was #Pillion and beneath the leather latex and butts, it's a great character study of a timid man who grows in confidence through a niche kind of romance. Surprisingly sweet, and wickedly amusing at times, this is a solid character piece.

After feeling all movied out for a few days, it's double feature time! #Nuremburg followed by a secret screening that will most likely be Pillon. Interested to see how this turns out, but damn more movie posters like this please!

Ethan Hawke is outright enthralling in his depiction of Lorenz Hart. This performance carries an isolated setting to a thoroughly engaging level that would have not worked with another actor.

When awards season rolls round, fully expect #SentimentalValue and Renate Reinsve to be in the conversation. This was my favorite film at LFF this year, and is arguably one of the years best all together!

Ok so the first half was a rough one (post opening scene), I get what the idea was but tonally felt like there was a little too much humour and too much going on. But boy did #PredatorBadlands deliver in that second half with it's incorporation of its setting and change of stakes tying it together!

In what might have provided the most wholesome scene this year, #LeftHandedGirl is well worth the view and is a solid directoral effort from Shih-Ching Tsous!

The last film I saw at LFF was #christymovie and as someone unfamiliar with her story, this was one that garnered so many reactions from me, and left me rocked despite some pacing and technical flaws.

Yes I am definitely the last person to review #ShelbyOaks but... c'mon I'm a talking head movie reviewer on YouTube, there's no way I was not gonna talk about our bois debut! Even if it was disappointing.
