I think the important and perhaps unfortunate thing here is that many devices (apple especially) without bespoke versions of certain emulators only have the retroarch version available

uhhh i’m definitely not old enough to remember but i’m pretty sure it’s related to people feeling helpless after a traumatic event. misinformation didn’t have a platform like it does today so you didn’t see polarizing takes so much as ‘fun what ifs’
