I hope you get some nice photos. I unfortunately am not going to be able to make it there I don't think.

FWIW, I just dug a car out that was plowed in and cleared off some pretty thick snow that had crusted over using a regular spade. Might work with less risk of injury. Just slam it in, wiggle, slam it in again and it'll start to crack and calve like an iceberg. Worth a try!

I've been playing with local models a lot and have been impressed what I can make work with just an 18 GB MBP. I built an AI powered Image Catalog using Vision Models, Multimodal embedding/vector DB and an MCP server all running on the machine. Would love to try on beefier hardware!

There were a few tiny flakes about 550a this morning when we were making the trip down to UVA but it quickly turned to sleet. I'm counting it. 😀

Fired this up on my morning walk and as Leo was listing off the gang I was like "wow what a line up!"

I see the perspective that the author highlights about the marketing angle of using AI to fight AI and had similar thoughts when I read it.

Thanks for sharing additional perspective on this story.

They raise some interesting points. More details would be welcomed, however I maintain that at least in this instance, if their assertions are to be believed the lack of novel exploits and use of open source tools means that standard security practices would've been sufficient to protect the targets
