At a gig featuring The Vone, as a slightly different new year's celebration. Don't think they are on BlueSky yet, but I'll poke them to join! It's at the World's End in Camden, if you're nearby!

Been on a panto tour - 2 down, 1 to go, and 1 gig.

Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals. Also to animals who have had a shower or other wash. And people, I suppose...

So, I'm almost always in favour of giving children books, but I also think it's important to know what's in the books you're giving them, so... P2 discussion of hermaphroditism, p15 puppet sex, p114 voyeurism, p138 urine based creation myth, p204 BDSM sex club, p250 non BDSM sex. #booksky #wicked

Modern logistics is crazy. Tracking a package which started in Vietnam, then went Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Thailand and India. I'd like it to stop touring east Asia and come to the UK, but I'm guessing it's finding itself on a gap year.

Was my work Xmas do in Saturday. We went karting then had delicious Lebanese food. Those bits were fine.
Walking between the activities, though, bad idea with broken toe!

If, purely theoretically, you hire someone to look at your computer system for 2 days, it's really helpful if you provide correct details for them to be able to look at it at it more than 30 mins before end of the 2nd day. Especially if said someone has been asking you this since 30 mis into 1st day

Feeling really down today. Wife and kids down in London, but since I can't walk far without yelping in pain, decided it would be a bad idea for me to go

Morning all you gorgeous people! Also morning to people who aren't gorgeous. And to any who are sometimes gorgeous but sometimes not. Probably not morning to people in timezones where it's afternoon or night. People in space, yeah, no idea what to say to you in terms of times if day. Sorry.

I feel that I should point out that going to hospital was pretty efficient - got there about 8:45am, triaged by 9:30am, x-ray by 10:15am, broken toe strapped up and heading home by 11:15am. And that's all NHS services which are struggling to cope. NHS staff are awesome!

Spent the morning getting an x-ray on my foot then getting it bandaged. Managed to break my big toe tripping on the stairs at home.

I was very good yesterday when at board game shops. I didn't buy all the board games, not even Wyrmspan, which was really tempting me. This was mostly due to a lack of opportunities to play board games rather than any other reason.

Taking kids to see some guy dressed in red who knows if they've been good or bad. Apparently, he has claws, and hangs out in a place that's grotty. Asnat? Tansa? Satan? Yes, that sounds right...

Meeting authors is always interesting - you're talking to someone whose brain came up with a world your brain interpreted. I've been lucky to meet and chat to a few:

Terry Pratchett
Stephen Baxter
Jeffrey Deaver
Yahtzee Croshaw (kind of)
Mags L Holliday

What authors have you met? 💙📚

"A line appears, the order wanes, the Family falls, and Kaos reigns" - so, the Yellow Brick Road, the loss of speaking animals, the fall of the Thropp sisters to "evil", and the panic which takes over Oz? Would explain why Zeus has lost a bunch of powers... #wicked #kaos

If anyone is wondering about my following scheme on here, I'm currently on the "following people who interact in any way with me" phase.

Is there a film about two physically disabled scientists living in a commune with two other people and dealing with life, speeches, awards, and falling out of bed?

Or was that just something my brain made up from scratch?

Took eldest to see Wicked Part 1. She loved it, came out singing and demanding to see the second part as soon as it comes out! I thought it was pretty good too.

Today's reading (it's an audiobook - also have various other things to get done): Soul Music by Terry Pratchett.

I think I might have accidentally trained BlueSky to only show me astronomical photographs. I mean, they're pretty, but I'm sure there must be other content around!

So, I thought I should join the new hotness, even though I didn't use the old place since 2016. So, anyone talking about sewing with a machine, making Lego models, reading books, or cyber security?
