Okay, American oil companies do not want to invest in Venezuela for security reasons and we do not want ICE to occupy American cities. So maybe Trump should send all ICE folks to Venezuela to protect the oil investments. (Apologies to Venezuelans, this is satirical.)

Don’t like being cynical and prejudging everything the Trumpers/GOP do, but one or two good actions does outweigh their evil world view. Sorry Steve Miller, defending democracy, finding shared interests, and considering future generations creates a better reality than intimidation and violence.

Small potatoes, but why didn’t Karen Budd-Falen (3rd in rank in the Dep’t of Interior) at least disclose that her husband had a $3.5 million contract with Nevada mine developers who just got a permit from Interior? Top to bottom, Trumpers and the GOP just don’t care about ethics and accountability.

America was not perfect following WW II, but we never abused our dominance to simply take what we wanted. We built a world where many, including ourselves, thrived or could hope for peaceful prosperity. Trump replaced that model with bullying and force in service to narrow and personal interests.

Believing you can exert your will and inflict injury on others without negative reciprocal consequences is a recipe for cruelty and immorality. And there are always consequences. Today’s victims are the core and seeds of tomorrow’s enemies.

Perhaps the Trump/GOP big vision: expand oil supply by military action and environ destruction benefitting companies like Chevron, and kill cleaner electric cars by cheap gasoline and blocked alternative energy. Sort of like tearing up the old LA streetcar system only more violent and plutocratic.

We now see the rise of a new rich royalty that controls our government and information systems. Common folks must vote. Set our inheritance tax at 90% for wealth over $50 million. Protect farmers and most business owners, but billionaires from having excessive political power for generations.

Religion can be complex, for sure. But something is off-track when some folks think being a Christian means fighting to preserve patterns of power and specific cultural concepts rather than caring for the unfortunate.

Rubio did very important work: making sure State Department writings are less clear to people with vision challenges. Maybe that will help him clarify why Trump pardons drug dealers like former Honduran president Hernandez and Baltimore drug kingpin Garnet Smith and kills people adrift in the ocean.
