Let's welcome Dr. Pietro Maria Bonetti to MPI FKF!

Pietro is a new group leader and he will be working on frustrated magnetic lattice also using artificial intelligence methods! 😶‍🌫️🤖

He will combine the research on exotic states of matter with the newest computational methods.

Visit of Minister-President Winfried Kretschmann to the MPI-FKF with Petra Olschowski, Minister of Science of Baden-Württemberg, and Prof. Patrick Cramer, President of the MPG. The visit included lab tours, the presentation of the AMDL project, and discussions on fostering science and innovation!

The German-Austrian Physics Tournament has come to an end. It was a great three days of science, engaging debates, and fun. Congratulations to Team LMUminosity from Munich for winning the competition, and to all the other teams for making it a fantastic tournament!

The Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research mourns the loss of Prof. Dr. Hans-Joachim Queisser.
Together with William Shockley, he developed the Shockley-Queisser limit.
The Max Planck Institute organized a well-attended memorial in his honor.

Yesterday, we participated in the AOK-Firmenlauf in Ludwigsburg with our team "The FKF-Nanorunners team." Our team consisted of 16 runners from 10 different nations, and together achieved an impressive 19th out of 142 mixed teams! Well done runners!
