It's being presented that way, but it isn't what he's saying. Populism helped get Trump enough support for the Russians, then Musk, to manipulate elections. This is the perfect time to brush off the old saying, "It's the economy, stupid."

He's talking hills to die on. Do we run on issues that affect 1% of the population, or concentrate on getting the power back to actually do something about it? Full participation, and we wouldn't have to appeal as much to Indies and Libertarians. But apathy, and stubbornness, still reign.

That remains to be seen. But Mamdani didn't have an answer when asked about property taxes, the only tax he controls. Raise it and reduce affordability, lower it and reduce revenue. Add the fact that 45% of apartments are already rent stabilized, and one has to wonder about delivering on promises.
