It's actually one of the things I love about your writing - it gives additional dimensions to some of your characters. As you say, all offices are the same, and they all wear uniform 99% of the time, so small differences/details matter a lot.

Matt, I've been an Economist reader/listener for decades. Is the paper going to use words like "corruption", "lies", "racist" and "illegal"? I'm really not seeing it at the minute, and that's concerning.

How are these tariffs permitted when USMCA exists? Surely that agreement prohibits tariffs between the signatories?

Why do they not seem to understand that worsening conditions in poorer countries leads to increased illegal immigration? I thought their goal was to stop immigrants?!?!

Completely without evidence, but I suspect it might have something to do with Canadian's weird deference to traditional 'British' things. "There's no way we could make single malt as good as the Scots do..."
