Opinionated about so many different things. Likely to be talking most about beer, sports, food, and public policy. English in Canada.
I don't think it's still there, but I think it was the Hay Merchant on Westheimer. I was staying on Lovett.

As a Brit who once was in Houston for an Astros game and wanted to go to a specific bar outside of downtown, can confirm that this will happen.

As a Brit, I was once very excited to be invited to visit a friend who was at Miami University... And then I realized that it was in Ohio...

Audio only gives you the same three ads ... All for the app you're currently using... Every single effing half inning. It's actively making me hate listening to something I love.

Don't forget hearing the same three adverts every single inning break on the audio feed. At a higher volume than the game.

The Supreme Court of Canada has said that municipal councils may not have prayer as part of meeting, so I wonder why it's allowable at the federal level. www.municipalworld.com/feature-stor...
A look at the SCC decision on opening prayers at council - Municipal World

@lizdye.bsky.social keeps calling them Muskrats, which is amazing. Just in case you're looking for an image for an upcoming cartoon...

It's actually one of the things I love about your writing - it gives additional dimensions to some of your characters. As you say, all offices are the same, and they all wear uniform 99% of the time, so small differences/details matter a lot.

Matt, I've been an Economist reader/listener for decades. Is the paper going to use words like "corruption", "lies", "racist" and "illegal"? I'm really not seeing it at the minute, and that's concerning.

How are these tariffs permitted when USMCA exists? Surely that agreement prohibits tariffs between the signatories?

Why do they not seem to understand that worsening conditions in poorer countries leads to increased illegal immigration? I thought their goal was to stop immigrants?!?!

I'd probably go with Canuck, Mountain Lager and/or Godspeed's Tmavy Lezak. And probably will!

Completely without evidence, but I suspect it might have something to do with Canadian's weird deference to traditional 'British' things. "There's no way we could make single malt as good as the Scots do..."

I completely read that company name as "EvilCore" for a moment...

After, broad, matches-first please. Less gossip if anything.

No worries - thanks for the reply!

Good to know. Any chance that I'll be able to find some of these at Beermiscuous? I'm staying just down the road.

Thanks! I was planning to get to Dovetail and Rev, but I'll try to find some Old Irving too!

I'm on a major dark lager kick, and will be in Chicago next week. Which others should I seek out?

Why is so much of this era committee HoF ballot made up of people who've already been on an era ballot and failed to get close to election?
