Native American English speaker here and I say 3/4 of an hour. I also say 1/4 to and 1/4 past the hour. Grew up in the 70s so maybe it’s an age thing?

I’d even go grocery shopping around 6 am - that kind of thing. I was very disciplined about it. Not necessarily exact hours, but close. Eventually I settled into waking up between 4:30-5:30 am and sleeping around 9 pm. I hope you find what works for you ! Good luck! Btw, sleep meds don’t work on me
January 12, 2026 at 2:41 PM
I had become nocturnal - couldn’t sleep at all at night and sometimes couldn’t sleep for 24 - 36 hours . What worked for me was not letting myself sleep until 5 - 7 pm and then if I woke up anytime from 4 am onwards, I’d get up and start my day. Showering, dressing, eating breakfast, etc. 1/2

Your videos are very good pick-me-ups, so thank you for making them!

I had terrible sleep issues and found a strategy that worked for me but I don’t want to lay advice on you if you’re not okay with it. Let me know either way - it’s all good.

I remember calling the radio station, talking to the DJ and asking him (always a man!) to play a specific song. In a few minutes it would play.

I used to hate when people asked me this, but they often right, so: Are you dehydrated?

This is the way. Works for me

OMG! Now I can’t get the thought of a smooth-faced man peering in my window at midnight. 🫣

That’s wonderful! (But I hope someday it’s normal)

History shows in western Europe that when an industry becomes respected or provides wealth (when it didn’t before) it suddenly becomes: first, dominated by men at the top, second, gradually men take over most positions at all levels

In the 80s, when I was in Germany and Italy, several people spoke to me about the American system of completely changing the gov every 4 years. (Not quite how it works…) They worried about new gov wildly changing policy. They felt then that they couldn’t trust USA to keep to any pact because of it.

I just had my annual mamo & got the all clear but I think I was the only woman in the waiting room who did due to the way they told me I was clear - they had me step around the corner and whispered my results to me, then took me to the dressing rooms by a different way.

I go back to primary care physician for new referral, back to specialist but this is new referral and I need new prior authorization. Rinse, repeat ad nauseum
December 12, 2025 at 12:10 AM
The errors in the rejection are so bad it’s almost like they’re referring to someone else’s case. I appeal - ins co has 60 days (starting after my 30 days to appeal even if I appeal same day) to respond. If I get approval, the specialist office says referral is too old 2/3
