We are rightfully proud of our long tradition of striking and rioting though ;) but it's def not as simple as "we'll riot and it will solve everything". We did riot against a reform of retirement two years ago and it still passed, for exemple.

well... we do riot, but it doesn't always work. And the political situation here (While better than in the US) is far from ideal, with increasing police suppression of protests, and far right parties polling really high. I personnally think we are in a position to express support, not give lessons !

Still, probably not comparable to the situation in the US in terms of police violence. And from what we see from Minneapolis and elsewhere, plenty of protesters in the US are doing their best and taking risks. This french person, for one, thinks you're doing what you can in a crappy situation !

French police is in the top 5 in western Europe (first depending on the criteria used) for the number of deaths / maiming caused, according to a 2023 study by the french media basta! There are multiple cases of maimed / permanently blinded protesters, with very little accountability.
