Is this where he appoints his daughter to the role?

A move akin to handing the bully your dinner money in the hope that a.) not bully you further and b.) they will let you join their game

She gains nothing from this gesture, he wants puppets in his new oil factory, not people of legitimacy

This has to be led and supported by parents! Schools are not able to police this effectively. Smart phones should not be accessible throughout the day, parents facilitate the view that they are needed for safety. Provide devices to teens to call/sms only. Read @jonathanhaidt.bsky.social ‘s book

I love the logic that filling your party with the worst elements of the party responsible for taking a wrecking ball to the UK, is somehow the solution to everyone’s problems. Like “Vote Reform, get what you got from the Tories”. Austerity and vitriolic anti-foreigner gaslighting

Bit the inside of his lip whilst calling her an f’ing bitch

Plus if you consider that they got it “wrong” and declared the match unsafe. The worst outcome of this decision would avoid any harm to anyone. Making an incorrect decision the other way makes for much worse outcomes. Better to be too cautious surely

Yeah but what about orange people?
January 13, 2026 at 3:50 PM
Look at the calibre of them. CVs as paper thin as their integrity. Notorious for all the wrong reasons

We have definitions for what dishonesty is in English and Welsh Law, if we want better outcomes politically, we need higher standards. Standards in public life are important, if people see shady people doing well for themselves, we create emulation of this across society. Covid lessons learnt?

“No one is talking about leaving the single market”… prominent brexiter prior to May’s decision to lean towards a more extreme exit

Ah a Reaganomics prophet…still no clue about long run policy implications of his own strategy nor causes of the actual issues in society, but happy to confirm he is right about the tariffs

He could just get Grok to create images of a protest about it… but he’d probably put everyone in bikinis or something

This is less relevant than the fact that the front of her car is past him when he discharges his gun. You are not being defensive if the perceived threat is going away from you.

This is a clear “do as I tell you or I’ll shoot you” issue

I sincerely hope Jim did not! 😳

Do we get badges if we left as soon as Elon bought it? 😜

This assumes Trump acknowledges Europe has any say. This requires him nodding that they have power. Until they upscale their own military capacity, they are not in the conversation (in the eyes of Maga)
January 7, 2026 at 1:58 AM
You know the answer to this, we all do. The second Greenland is encroached upon, NATO is over. The UK and it’s European allies need to urgently start planning for a defensive strategy which unhooks our reliance on the (now unreliable) US
January 6, 2026 at 3:30 PM
Agreed. The whole public sector needs a rethink, particularly the tendering processes if private firms are needed
January 6, 2026 at 3:22 PM
Nah, I wish I was this optimistic. I think they KNOW they only have this one term. I also think the ONLY important job is gaining close trade with the US to appease the brexiters… what they don’t see is Putin links Brexit and Maga and this won’t happen
January 6, 2026 at 3:18 PM
Can’t work out whether they just don’t see the problem, or they do see it and think their self interest is worth it…

Although my guess is they cannot be this dim

There is no counter narrative when there is an algorithm designed to amplify one side and suppress the other. There is no free speech angle on X for this reason either

Not sure a change of leader will allow for the forgiveness of them leaning towards Reform policy. I’m not saying they’ve not achieved anything but what they have achieved in office has been utterly spoilt by their determination to look like they had no plan for if they won

What they thought would happen: They’d be able to duck out of EU legislation and cut costs (and consumer/worker safety)
What happened: If they did that they’d not be able to sell them in their biggest market so they now have higher export costs and import costs and have to stick with the EU rules
