Nice to pop down to London last week and pick up a conservation citation for our work at Provand’s Lordship - and to meet Kevin McCloud, who was as lovely as you’d hope!

Alas, it’s already sold out on the days I’m about… thanks for the tip, will add it to the list for next time!

A gig at the Hydro means an excuse to walk up and down St Vincent Street en route west, for my money Glasgow’s best street, and home to one of its finest buildings… (albeit in need of some TLC)

One of the best gigs I’ve been to in a long time! If they were playing again tonight I’d be looking for a ticket! How about you??

Unsure - the ones of the same design have different names, Invershiel in Lenzie, and Dunluce in Dullatur. And the others in the grouping in Dalmuir (the rest now lost) were Ravenswood, Inanda and Uladh Tower… will take a look at the NLS maps tonight and see if it turns anything up!

Got to see this Thomsonesque house in Dalmuir first hand eventually the other day, completed after his death by his partner - the same house type can also be found in Thomsonesque developments in Dullatur and Lenzie 🤓 #GreekThomson

Thomson liked a slab of Cyclopean masonry for a base course… I’m assuming in part due to the historic Greek precedent, and also to artificially raise his buildings up on a plinth for dramatic effect.

New / old song of the day… A Flock of Seagulls, randomly spat out by the Spotify algorithm!

Spent a bit of my Monday evening killing time in Lennoxtown library, I came across this book of Eric Watt photographs by Glasgow Museums. It’s got some fab photos in it, very easy to lose an hour in…

Glasgow yesterday, looking down West George St towards St George’s Tron… was a bit to late to catch the sun rising behind it, which is always a great wee moment

Recently we went down to Manchester for an office trip - one of the things that stood out were these inflatable artworks which are dotted throughout the city, wee moments of joy and weirdness - would love to see something similar in Glasgow!

Hello Bluesky! It’s been a funny old week… the nice bit was picking up this guy, the Glasgow Institute of Architects award for Conservation, for our work at Provand’s Lordship.
