2. Anohana movie (Anime). Nothing new to say about this one compared to the show. A recap movie done right, with it playing out diegeticly. Very happy to have one final outing with the characters and getting to see just a little bit of their post story growth.

1. Sayonara no Asakusa ni Yakusoku no Hana wo Kazarou (Anime movie). Couldn't get into the movie at all, characters felt hollow so any emotional beat that got me felt cheap and unearned.

8. La La Land (movie) Pretty good romance film, both leads put in a great performance but the script dragged in parts and none of the musical numbers where especially memorable or catchy.

7. Cobweb (movie) Very generic horror movie, enjoyed the performance of the parents but the monster was painfully uninspired.

By the end, I had a deep appreciation for every focus character, which is truly impressive.

... more. Despite this feeling that is not the responsibility of the text, which did what it set out to do. Highly recommended

...Realistically flawed. Menma getting a proper goodbye was the sweetest ending they could have written. Tho now I would love to see a story taking the same basic concept and just playing it 100% straight. A character study on loss. Anohana dipped it's feet into this but left me wanting a little...

Just finished it, my thoughts might not be fully formed but here I go. I think the they stuck the landing and I really liked the resolution of basically seeing everyone take their first real step towards healing. Every living character felt fleshed out enough that they felt real and

The sheer amount of apathy is something that I recognized from the fanon interpretation of him, but never found textual support for to the full extent in the game. To me his ingame portrayl felt very normal, but that might just say more about my relation to depression than his characterization.

6. Ano Hana (anime). A classic for a very good reason. I can't believe it's about to turn 15 years old, it feels fresh enough that it could have come out this year. Also Aoi Shiori is one of the best anime OPs of all time. Still have 3 eps to watch and will write further thoughts once done.

5. Win or lose (Pixar) This show was amazing, maybe my favorite thing Pixar has ever made. Building everything up from every characters perspective, while not ground breaking, was flawlessly executed and it had some of their finest character work in their whole back catalogue.

4. FNAF 2 movie. Haven't seen the first one and have nothing good to say about the source material. Went along with my friends on a whim and it was painfully generic. Characters felt like they only did things for cause the plot needed them to. There is no reason to ever watch this movie.

3. Persona 3 movie 1 and 2. Having played reload these do a fine job of retelling the story, with some changes for the better and some for the worse (Removing Yukari's lash out and hug at the beach). Surprisingly the characterization for Makoto Yuki was way different than I read him in game.

2. Elio (Pixar) Had never heard of this movie but pretty good. Felt almost like one of the classic Pixar movies

To finish off, here is the most magical picture I have ever taken. On the same bridge where Kumiko wanted to improve, I saw the most beautiful disply of nature I've ever seen

All of this is thanks to Hibike Euphonium and my love for it. As I've tried to put my feelings about it into words it has turned into this huge rambly mess, because it almost goes beyond words. I have said everything I can about it as of now.

being just as important as Uji to me. When I go back I'm gonna have the same duck burger that I had this latest time. Im gonna walk the bridges again, see the commorants, the tourist info center and the Uji river. The breathtaking view of Daikichiyama and everything else (hopefully Nintedo museum)

where I discovered my favorite drink in the world, Skål selection Ringo, a milk and apple soda, which caught my eye by being in my native tounge despite being on the otherside of the world. The only other places I've ever found it in since, were Arashiyama and Shimo-Kitazawa, the latter of which...

Uji has become a place I love and will return to again and again, all thanks to this show. It truly is a magical place and I cannot imagine not knowing about it. The next time I'm there, I even wanna take the train from Keihan-Uji station, as I've only gone from JR-Uji. Uji was also the place...

of 2025, a year after season 3 ended. Ive walked in Kumiko's footsteps. I've sat on her bench. I've listened to Asuka's performance of Hibike Euphonium playing from my phone under the bridge where they sat. Ive been to Daikichiyama twice.

The final topic I wanna discuss today is the setting. Uji. It feels quite strange to talk about because I both feel unqualified yet so attached that I need to say something. I've now been there twice, first in september 2023 having just seen ensemble contest a month before, and again in june...

There are so many things I could talk about here that I could write all night. Like the feeling of triumph when the third season was officially announced, and despite not being their first work after, felt like Kyoani's pheonix moment after the arson. The proof that they were still the same.

... Hibike Euphonium being the clear standout. The way it was made diagetic in season 2 AND acted as a series namedrop is unreplicable. It is insane to think about the people who read the novel when it was orignially published and didnt get to experience that.

... in the background. It's really one of those little things that really push shows I love into my favorites. And Hibike is full of them, they are maybe slightly more repetetive than something like K-on, but the linear story benefits greatly for it. The light moteif of the in universe song ...
