It’s not “our media”. It’s the billionaire’s media. Yes, it reports the news, but that’s not why they own it. It’s there to set the narrative and flood society with whatever they want.

My Nan loved Vim. Always had a pot under the kitchen sink and deployed it often. I too remember the rusting claggy circle of holes at the top of the tin from when she'd tip it back-and-forth on a damp rag before going at it with the offending mark or stain.

I don't think there's a plan. I think we're squarely in the, "saying absolutely anything that generates headlines in a desperate bid to cling on just a bit longer", stage of things. She's never going to be PM and knows it. She can say anything she wants.

Thanks for posting this. I watched The Tripods on Saturday evenings in the mid-eighties and was half scared, half amazed by it. I’ve come back to it through the books as an adult.

Must be ripe for revival, surely? Amazed no one has.

Long ago my wife tutored the kids of a man who’d fled Iran with his wife. Escaped death on the toss of a coin. Paid in from day one. Committed to the UK. Daughter is now a human rights barrister.
WTF are we doing, threatening these peoples future? What is wrong with our politicians?

Putin is testing NATO and the western powers to see how they react. He’s also demonstrating that we’re not beyond his military reach. If a drone can circle key infrastructure, it can attack it too.

Same. I've actually met the man, and he's horrible in person if there's no camera around. Only interested in money. If you can't make him rich, he'd step over your body and steal your wallet.
