For student use, MagicStudent as a way to introduce AI to students in a way that lets teachers remain in control!

Hi Alice! Do you have an addon that lets me take a template google sheet (or doc/slides) and create & share a copy with each student? Hopefully retaining ownership and keeping all of the files in the same folder? I've been using Autocrat for this process, but I felt like you had a better solution?

My district has SMART IFPs as well and I've really grown to like some of the features of Lumio. It's not perfect (authoring within Lumio is really bad), but I like that we can assign groups of students, embed PDFs, and modify a lesson on the fly based on Formative Assessment. #edusky #edtech

Over the next two weeks we'll help onboard 200+ new teachers, train two groups of administrators, visit at least 10 campuses to do more scheduled trainings, facilitate sessions for every content coordinator, and look good doing it the whole time!

I love my team and wouldn't trade them for anything!

Your image alt-text is the best!

I got this in my email from the local library last month that gave similar vibes.

What's the competition like for premier sleight of hand magician in Mansfield? What happens at an after-hours magic show at the public library?

Don't be afraid to ask questions. Lots of questions.

Make friends with the office staff.

Make connections with people outside your dept.

Don't take things students say personally.

Your school district needs you just as much as you need them (maybe more).

@alicekeeler.com has tons of great resources for GC on her site!

Matt Miller also has some good beginning resources on ditchthattextbook.com/google

Depending on if your district has the free version or the edu package, there are some really nice new tools coming for GC! https://bit.ly/3Dzx4bz

Catlin Tucker's Balance with Blended Learning was an eye-opener full of actionable things I could do to make my classroom more student centered. I wish I'd had it earlier in my career.

Learn Me Good by John Pearson is a really sweet book if you want to reset your mindset.

In my classroom, almost everything we did was project-based learning so the 4Cs were always front and center.

I loved including "extra-credit" challenges that required extra thinking and would always have "do something amazing related to this" as the last extra-credit option. #EDUsky

The coaches loved it and wanted us to come and do it with PLCs at the start of this year.

We also played it as a "who's line is it anyway" style game at ESC11 at one of the last Canvas User Group meetups. We had folks from different districts all coming up with very cool ideas!

We then kicked it up a notch with an APP-SMASH where we spun for 2+ tools and challenged them to come up with a way to incorporate those into a lesson. It was a lot of fun and a great way to introduce features of tools that they might not have been familiar with or that they don't use regularly!
