First time I’ve known the 1st test of an Australian ashes series to be played in Perth rather than Brisbane. I’m guessing it’s to cut down on travelling time etc in these days of 5 match test series being congested into 6/7 weeks

In other kitchen related news, my microwave died a stinky/burny/smelly death last week so bought a new one today from the first time in about 10 years. Only seem to use it for warming up tortillas, doing scrambled eggs for the dog, & the clock but always feel like you need one anyway

Carvery etiquette. When a fresh joint of your chosen meat has been brought out yet they try & fob you off with the dregs (& it was dregs) of the old one, is it reasonable to ask for cuts off the fresh one? I did it & got a right dirty look off the carver bloke

Water bill has just risen from £42 to £53 per month. I’m told we’d be much better off switching to a meter as there’s only 2 of us in the house (& a dog) at the moment. We buy bottled water to drink & don’t have a bath. Has anyone done this & if so, did you make a significant saving?
