Is this the issue here, or is it that we should hold these organizations more accountable for their product. Universities, I believe are selling us a defective product which costs too much and isn't delivering on what is advertised. Maybe we should demand better value for what we are paying for.

If we were to sell 1 share to each user at $50/share that would be $1B and there would be some safeguard that the platform is safer. Right?

Would it be possible to sell this platform to the users? Offer shares to users on this platform and that hopefully will keep it out of the hands of those that want to get rid of it?
