3) What we've just seen with air traffic controlling may well be coming soon to food safety, health, workplace safety, highway safety. We may find out more precisely what is to blame in this tragic case. In the coming tragedies (and they will come), we will not have to look hard to see the cause.
2) This tragedy occurs as Trump fires competent governmental regulators and fills staff positions not with people with proven track records and competence but with loyalists. Trump this week appointed to top positions in government the biggest slate of incompetents we've seen in recent history.

1) So far, we've little idea why the plane crashed in DC. But people have pointed to understaffing. It is sadly ironic that we see this incident caused by too few governmental officials just as Trump begins to purge the "deep state." Such government positions need to be appropriately filled.
