maybe it could act as a sprinkler? the stand looks a bit like the sprinklers of doom from splatfest so you could maybe have it behave like that

screen: i've always liked the idea of screen obscuring the enemy's ui in some way (not being able to see the top of the screen maybe) so that could be something? like adding an extra effect like this im not exactly sure (and while we're at it lets remove the sound)

booyah: my first thought was increasing the height you fly into the air but thats kinda boring, maybe some trade off where the bomb explodes slower but does more? dont wanna mess with the special charge teammates get i dont knowwwwwwww

hammer: i can only think of increasing the speed of rush mode and that would only hurt slow firing weapons so i don't like that, maybe you could do something with the jump swing?

bubble: i'd want the effect to be mostly towards the beakon in the middle (again idk what)

this is where all my clear ideas end but i have other less finished ideas below

missiles: i'd want something that buffs them the closer you are to who you lock on to (and i'd want these buffs to be for quite close, imagine pro range) but im not exactly sure what they'd be

chump: spu gives you the option to fire the chumps at nearby teammates and have you jump in at the same time so that you can take advantage of the decoy mechanic

ink vac: you can now end the shot early if you wear spu this feels very obvious and idk why nintendo hasnt done it by default but if theyre scared of it now you have to wear gear for it surely it can work now

wave: it would be very cool and good i think if the waves appeared more frequently and were less strong

eg the spu version would release 5 waves but each does only 25 damage and tracks for 6 seconds, it'd work better for weapons doing smaller bits of damage more often (eg. heavy, ds)

tsd: somehow it'd be cool if you could pick which of the 3 "splashdowns" you were, im thinking like when you activate the special you can hold a direction and swap yourself with the fists

might be a tad complicated but this isn't a huge buff but instead another option so it fits i think

slider: give it drop roller when it explodes this has been said to death it'd be fun and you'd remove the really stupid hitboxes and paint spu gives it now

crab: i was tempted to go with the challenge thing where you just go fast but that would be silly but i think making the ball form move a bit faster would be nice, i'd want it fast enough that it could actually reposition quite far but in exchange it can't fire during it i think thats fair and fun

zip: i said it in the og post but double the zip arm it'd be funny

inkjet: may be silly but i want to lean into the mobility so i think give its air travel speed closer to what it had in s2 3.0 (around then? its speed in oe). better mobility and you dont have to deal with silly 50 aoe hitboxes now

zooka: hear me out the projectile just becomes s1 zooka (you still only get 3 and it'd have to be changed a tad maybe make it a bit shorter or something)

in exchange for reliable damage for explosions you get projectile with better killing power in open sight lines and less bullshit with missing

i might make a list of ideas at some point bc i realllyyyyyy do not like spu as a stackable ability bc it limits so many of the effects to “increases duration of a special where duration doesnt matter” and then when it actually is useful it eats up all your gear

special power up zipcaster that doubles the range of the zip arm or a reefsldier that instead of being a zone flip button gives you access to a roll off the slider
