I also make these for folks in our work chat. It's a fun task for me, and personally, I think the result beats those "character creators." Sometimes I'm asked what app I used to make them, and the answer is Adobe Illustrator 😏 Good caricature captures character, not just visual features.

Doing some long-overdue cleanup on the English language this morning… "Carcinogenic" is now "cancerogenic." "Floor" is now "foor," the opposite of "roof." Complementary colors rhyme (red/gred, orange/blorange)

I agree with everything in The Oatmeal’s piece on AI art, and I appreciate that he wrote it at all—it feels a tedious and thankless thing to do today.

I don’t even care enough about genAI to dislike it. It’s the most ignorable content there is.

Today's news of Arduino's sale to Qualcomm reminds me of this old single-purpose New Yorker caption of mine:
