In other words, there's half a chance of some new buses in the next two decades #LeedsMassTransit

I suspect it will be planned for 2050 but then cut in 2040

Maybe it should default to green for people, red for cars, and only change when there are cars waiting - the current process is about keeping the traffic moving rather than keeping pedestrians moving

A gig, at least for me, is about being in the moment, not watching it via my phone as an anticipated memory, recording something I'll likely never watch, so I'm with you on this one (although singing badly isn't really a choice for me, it's my only option).

Insubordination will be a problem, I can guarantee it.

In my experience, you don't cope very well. You just try to maintain a healthy balance of being present in their lives as a caring parent, and being out the house as often as you can possibly get away with. Get a dog.

This was a bugger to write, really struggled to get it right, and not sure I quite got there - podcast version will take a while

I've been doing the odd class online, but it's not the same, I've no idea what's going on half the time, trying to work if it's the left or right leg and what I'm supposed to do with it - so much more meaningful in person

As tempting as a life in a ruin with insufficient bathroom facilities is, I think I'll give it a miss thanks - tell Casey to keep the ideas coming though!

Having done a bit more research, it seems as if the Tibor Fischer book is more a description (and defence) of Hungarian politics, and Victor Orbán in particular, so not sure that's quite my bag. The bookshop didn't have it anyway, although they had Under the Frog which is excellent.

It also made me think about novellas as a thing, and whether I should try it instead of my clunky attempts to write novels - I might try to rewrite one of them as a novella and see if it's any less awful.

I read the first novella on the plane home (The Flower Show) and loved it. It's surprising how well he built the world and the characters with such little wriggle room. It's about a man making a TV documentary filming people's deaths as a way of talking about and demystifying death

None of the books I was looking for were in this lovely shop, but this The Flower Show seems to be highly considered, so happy with my choice (although I haven't tried to read it yet)

Favourite photo from Budapest looks nothing much like Budapest

Thank you! My first time here so looking forward to exploring a little

Not a bad little view from my room, Europe's greatest river (apart from the Volga) in one of its most beautiful cities #Danube #Budapest

Not my actual plane, the one next to it, but you get the idea. Flights to Budapest are about 3 hours from Madrid, so too short to warrant free food and inflight entertainment - good opportunity to finish my book
