Two things that undermine notions that those complicit in crimes committed by the regime: Presidential immunity and Presidential pardons.
I doubt we will see any significant ‘moral awakening’ or lines not crossed in the next few years, just a continued escalation of criminality and doubling-down.

It’s a stunning own goal - I’m not sure the world will ever trust the USA as a global leader again. I suspect most countries will try and fortify their population , governments and economies against US influence, at every chance (not that Trump will make that easy).
