you can play Chrono Trigger on a hacked Switch, but hacking a Switch is a pain in the ass. you gotta buy a little plastic jig to insert on the joy con rail and turn the Switch on while holding some buttons and with the jig in place every time. BUT rumor is a CT remake or special ed is coming soon...

More intercontinental Mega Modem testing (with towels over my Genesis to muffle the screeching modem sounds). Still haven't experienced any actual gameplay through this thing, but we did at least connect briefly on Tel Tel Stadium and get to see rad team logos and adorable anime cheerleaders.

We connected for ALMOST a second on Cyberball. Had better luck on Shikinjoh, a game where you share custom levels... until I had to pull the plug, literally, because the modem was screeching too loud for 2:35am. FUN FACT: These games have voice chat! (which won't work over the PC tunnel we're using)

The scene turns into an elaborate spectacle with cutaways (Uncle Leo Larry calls in, Paddy Larry yells at Elaine Larry from outside), green screen action, and a Being John Malkovich-esque number of Larrys. Larry watches the result from an editing bay and says "Okay, yeah... this isn't working" (3/4)

So Larry says "Fuck it, I'll play them! I'll play them all!" We see Larry BURSTING into the apartment as Kramer, then reacting as George from the kitchen, as Jerry from the couch, and as Elaine from the other couch, always in full wardrobe/hair. At one point Newman shows up and he's also Larry (2/4)

I've never been able to open this thing (probably shouldn't, on account of CRTs being lethal and all) but, peeking through the cart slot, I did notice a little Triforce symbol on the board inside. I'm assuming someone put that there to help seal whatever's behind that unopenable gate on the side.

The box shows yet another name ("Mini Computer") and has artwork of a baby using the console (maybe that's the actual "Smart Child"). It also shows a cassette recorder connected to the side, somehow? All that's there is a mysterious gate that doesn't seem to open unless you break it. I'm afraid to.
