They are not louder, they just get more clicks for being controversial and are platformed by a few privileged individuals who agree with their toxic BS, and some are funded by religious extremists.

Well.. for me personally, as more of a "Guardian reader" type, I avoid the awards and any news about it as tbh, I don't like the way they are run. Actively starting to avoid them! I would wait for friends to share interesting trailers.

Exactly this. The privileged KNOW you can't speak up. R*, JK, UKGC & more.. the whisper network has been so active recently..

Sad I've still been seeing devs say "oh victims shouldn't be shaming on social media, it can ruin the accused life!". I challenge them on "so what other things can victims do", and the response I've had is "well nothing, just get on and ignore them". The accused often being privileged of course.

They are already applying it to other visas, check the horror stories in the sub reddits for visa applications. Worst I've seen is someone "only with LinkedIn", get declined.

Thank you! Note that their actions DO NOT represent all of the games industry. As an owner of a studio myself - I support unionisation. Even tough our trade bodies have yet to show any support for the workers rights - many of us games business are VERY supportive of workers 💪
