That world was particularly fervid at Chicago in the late 80s (no surprise).

Finally they’re saying the quiet part out loud.

Note also that the lawsuit alleges that because race and class are correlated, providing free tuition to lower income students is also racial preference.

They just want a pure aristocracy of inherited wealth

IL coach Bret Bielema was "at a loss for words" after the Illini's most-lopsided loss as a ranked team in the AP Poll era.

"I've never been a part of anything like that," Bielema said.

Well, yeah you have, Bret. 2010, remember? You were just on the other side of it. How does this side taste? #iufb

Does he ever. Those are some nice throws that are getting dropped.

What's cool is that is exactly the comparison people were making in 1992 when "A River Runs Through It" came out (directed by Robert Redford, starring Brad Pitt).

I am just going to keep posting that the TX governor recently pardoned a political murderer.

The dude texted "I'm going to shoot protestors", then went and shot a Black Lives Matter protester. He was convicted in a jury trial.

Hard to find a more blatant example of celebrating political violence.
Gov. Greg Abbott pardons Daniel Perry, veteran who killed police brutality protester in 2020
A Travis County jury sentenced Perry to 25 years in prison last year, prompting Abbott to ask the state parole board to review his case.

NB: A couple years ago J. Crew brought out a “giant fit” men’s Oxford shirt that is the most pitch-perfect 90s throwback I’ve seen in a long time. I’ve bought at least 8 of them.

That Evanescence show is wonderfully batty. Meanwhile, this Saturday in Ann Arbor you'll be able to hear songs from "Wicked"...

They are having a blast! I know that DCI is a different thing that marching band, but it's sad that they always seem so uptight.
mrsidetable.bsky.social
Ohhh that low brass is good. I wish Michigan's marching band could manage to look like it was having even a fraction as much fun as these kids.

Yeah, you really need something that's designed to carry some weight. We just got a little replica tabletop Albion that we're going to get fixed up.

Those tool carts are perfect for non-book items--we've got our tabletop printing press on one. It's also probably about 1/3 the price of a rolling library cart with shelves.
mrsidetable.bsky.social
It is a very nice cart. One thing I am still shocked by after 5+ years in my job is how insanely expensive book carts are.
