Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

"Actually fund research"
The NIH is 1% of the federal budget. It's responsible for saving Americans today and far into the future. Yet, the Trump admin is hell bent on hobbling the NIH. Millions of dollars in lost research on cancer, Alzheimers and diabetes can't be fixed by thoughts, prayers, and beef tallow. #impeachrfk

Can confirm
I promise you, the gaping maw of loneliness & a lack of purpose borne of the mismatch between the self you truly are & the one-size-fits-all mold of patriarchal masculinity will NOT be filled by subjecting a woman to pregnancy, childbirth, and unequal divisions of labor just so you can be a father.

Someone is going to have the write the thing about how “vibe” has become a substitute for meaningful theory in a world where the theory is so clear — grift and power — but we collectively refuse if because it isn’t sophisticated enough to generate make work for empiricists.

Devastating.
We are telling women:
You can have bodily autonomy only when you are sick enough you know you will die.

Maybe not even then.

(It’s not just OBs. Docs of all stripes treat pregnant patients or those for whom pregnancy is risky. Our research shows many are afraid to discuss abortion.)
While pregnant, Tierra Walker had a cascade of health complications that threatened her life.

Of more than 90 doctors who were involved in her care, not one offered her an abortion, according to medical records.

Walker is one of several women ProPublica found with underlying health conditions who died when they couldn’t access abortions.

What would possibly make one want to attack the US’s most trusted profession?

What might it be about the way nurses are imagined that makes it hard for some men to see them as expert professionals?
