Instead of bumping military spending up to $1.5 trillion, imagine if $500 billion of that was directed at R&D! Solve a lot of problems and put the US at the forefront of new industries!

Some forms of energy consumption can be variable and adjusted to variable supply. Ice making for instance. Make a lot of it when the sun shines or wind blows. Store the ice, not the energy needed to make it later. Waste water treatment, water heating, etc. Work on demand optimization AND supply

Unfortunately, it seems likely that any additional spending will go toward the SSN TFGs when drones are the technology today
