Equally while I'm sure some people may buy into a WW2 game involving maid outfits, they would be there for a campy experience. If it's a serious drama, it would reduce the work to a joke, and would probably receive backlash over lacking gravitas on a serious topic.

.. and what an established audience, if any, expects. In a gritty, grounded atmosphere, v. a lighter and more fantastical one, unrealistic flair where a combat oriented character ought to be breaks immersion. Like taking private Vasquez out of Aliens and replacing her with one of Charlie's Angels.

Well, it's interesting you bring up Lara Croft since a lot of the original fans complained and got alienated as she became progressively more sexualized and unrealistic as the franchise went on. Which approach works depends on what kind of product you're trying to sell ..

Because Victoria's Secret is showing off fashion, while the game in question is showing off a gritty bounty hunter. The issue with this complaint isn't about diversity, it's about thematic consistency. Not everything has to be an isekai where we have maids staffing the regiments on a battlefield.

The ideal outcome for Putin would be one where the war remains permanently ongoing at a low tension (and cost), so he can continue to leverage it for domestic policy. His true feelings about the western "threat" is shown in the fact that he's having his daughters live in France and England.

I would argue it's a moot point as you're faced with the same problem, personal donation or otherwise. You progressively entrench a status quo and allow the natural formation of a monopoly that fundamentally defeats the purpose of having an election in the first place.

I think you can definitely make *enough* progress if you prosecute people for bribery upon doing so anyway, where you simply start with anyone contributing >50k to make the workload both manageable and highly visible. Once there's clear liabilities on the table it'll change the game.
