Even my bank said it was ridiculous but not illegal to request. And if I challenged it the apartment would have gone to an applicant willing to say yes, so I caved. Changed my passwords right after, that's for sure.

Yea I moved in April and they required I provide my bank username and password to a 3rd party tool for them to access my accounts. No choice to opt out. Felt way over the line.
