What a load of attention seeking guff

Maybe coincidental, who is to say

She's gone beyond saying stuff that's dumb and cruel and is now solidly in the mad / weird category. Not sure if its a bid for attention at any cost or her and her circle just spend too much time on twitter.

It has always been like that - but it used to be the case that council's had more money to repair stuff.

He is very SE / London in his thinking - things were pretty fine there post 2010

Agree with you, up to point. But similar was happening ahead of 2019 - and much the same tactic (pro EU / Ref positioning) will probably be used to try to limit the flow now, as then.

😄👍

Like in 2019 you mean? For what its worth,John McDonnell agreed with me - which was a big factor why they switched to backing a 2nd ref (...though the left likes to 'blame' this on Starmer). May be misunderstanding you now anyway - apologies if so

I think you're confusing your own narrow experience in small left behind towns with the wider story. Left leaning, progressive parties are losing support of working class pensioners across the western world. Labour's support largely comes from young city dwellers - who are not brexit fans.

Main issue on that was Corbyn. Doubt you'll agree with me given our discussion so far, but that had a much bigger effect, in my view.

Not with people who would be inclined to vote Labour though.
December 8, 2025 at 11:51 AM
Nah - you must have forgotten/zoned out/not noticed their poll numbers before they switched to it
December 8, 2025 at 11:32 AM
They'd have been completely wiped out if they hadn't offered that in 2019

Thatcher not around anymore, so nominate George Osborne to take her place

Feel a bit sorry for him - obviously a very limited guy, and reading between the lines - had to move to Russia as his wife denied a UK visa?
December 7, 2025 at 5:08 PM
The general passivity of the leadership in the face of its critics annoys / puzzles me. It just invites further bludgeonings. I definitely wouldn't have wanted Sir K as my barrister, if this is how approached battles generally.

The whole "Rachel Reeves has misled the country" nonsense is ludicrous - annoys me that the BBC etc lead with it on news bulletins, when its so obviously twaddle. Also irritating that Labour are so poor at batting it away and calling it for what it is.

Or a South African, who spent his school days cossetted at Eton. He's such a wally.

Great opportunity for Labour to rebalanced the leadership, if they take it
November 10, 2025 at 9:14 PM
I think I read it about 10-15 years ago - pops into my head every time I've got a long to do list (most of the time). It works! (Kinda of.. or at least makes me productive in my avoiding what I should be doing) 😁

Frost is such a pompous toad. Why he's seen as a venerable thinker by someone many Torys is baffling
