Known mostly for my Yankees minor league reports and updates!

Yankees, Devils, Michigan, Panthers (sigh)

MILB reports: https://tomkosensky.com
Two possibilities:
1. MLB was naive to the fact that their players would start rigging certain outcomes;
2. MLB knew it might happen and didn’t care.

Neither is good.

What a bunch of clowns running this show.

NJ is a blue state, let’s make that clear.

But tonight was still a massive message. This was supposed to be close.

It was over before a few counties even started releasing their numbers.

The AP could have called it earlier if they wanted to. Glad they didn’t. But this was over quickly.

Great win by the Dodgers.

That is why I never liked IKF in pinstripes - nice kid who seems to lack some basic fundamentals. But people loved him because he made a lot of weak contact.

Off to the Hot Stove!

So the POS Aroldis Chapman, who walked out on the Yankees, vows he would never sign with the Yankees.

We don’t want you.

I do it as well sometimes.

But I love when baseball fans find the outliers who “figured it out” after 1,500+ PA while ignoring the most common outcome:

They never figure it out.

So the Yankees are blaming the infield coach and the hitting coordinators for Volpe’s issues, eh?

Desperation.

Smoltz:

ALDS:
“Toronto’s contact over the Yankees power…”. Emphasize it 2.2 million times.

ALCS:
“Wow, this Mariners power. Recent playoff history tells you that you want power over contact”

Yep. This is the one thing that should haunt Cashman in his sleep.

But it doesn’t.

What is maddening is to think about all the top tier shortstops we passed on to protect this untouchable asset.

Can someone give me one reason why Anthony Volpe deserves to be the Opening Day SS in 2026?

“Contact at the right moment wins baseball games”

John Smoltz with more hard-hitting analysis.

I never knew that making hard (important) contact with runners on base was a winning baseball formula.

Cam Schlittler did his job.

Jazz Chisholm did not.

Crappy baseball by the Yankees.

Nearly flawless baseball by the Blue Jays.

Adds up to total destruction.

I wonder how this potential coastal storm will impact Tigers - Yankees in Game 1 of the ALCS Sunday?

HR tally:
Blue Jays 6
Yankees 0

Yankees have two HR so far in five postseason games. And any they hit in this game will be very much meaningless.

Good time for Aaron Judge to hit one though.

No matter what John Smoltz is feeding you:

The Jays are crushing the Yankees with hard hit balls, many of which are going over the fence.

One 5–hopper leads to a run:
“Exit velocity is meaningless!”

A bunch of balls hit 800 MPH:

Crickets.

Smoltz’s ability to repeat factually inaccurate things, and describe the exact opposite of what is actually happening is almost impressive.
October 5, 2025 at 9:00 PM
John Smoltz trying to make a $257M team that happens to be the top seed in the AL into a feel good underdog story.

Trust me, Smoltz. Baseball fans know who the Blue Jays are.

No matter what I think about the love affair with Luke Weaver…

The top of the Yankees’ order needs to wake up if they want to make a series out of this.
