Greatest country on Earth is a big claim from someone whose party is so fucking incompetent that you can't even ensure that everyone has clean drinking water.

Wow, another in a series of things I've done over decades that doesn't land quite right. I always feel like I missed some memo on how to be a proper human. But I am a proper ADHD human & this is another sign of it! Thank you for this.

Who would have thought! 😂 After everything Canadians did in the second world war to help liberate Europe from fascism, many Canadians still believe fascism is bad and should be eradicated. Lest we forget.

We all need to think, prepare, and organise, including those of us who are more privileged. It's not just people of colour who are vulnerable - I'm thinking about family members who are gay, trans and disabled. Many people won't be able to flee. We need to find ways to protect them here.

Right? And so often our elected politicians stand in the way of really good policy based on smart innovation and research. Mind-boggling and heart-breaking

There are other instances where solar installations create shade (which we will need more and more in a warming climate) for example France and now Korea require parking lots of a certain size to be covered in solar.

It's not an either/or situation and, in fact, combining solar and agriculture can increase crop yields.

Farmers discover unexpected benefits of solar panels on cropland: 'Can be complementary'
Agrivoltaics involves solar panels that are mounted high enough off the ground for crops to thrive underneath or for animals to move freely between supports.

This is just electricity generation. We are very slow to adopt EVs. We haven't addressed emissions from agriculture. Fossil fuel extraction emits huge amounts before those fuels are even burned. (Doesn't matter where they are burned either - it's all one climate.) Overall, not doing well at all.

Let's give the credit for those programs for vulnerable people to those who deserve it: with a hearty shout out to Jagmeet Singh and the NDP.
