The three categories of Trump admin activity.
No. This is not illegal or unconstitutional. It’s just an insanely stupid idea.

Lacking any other clarity or context from POTUS, I assume this refers to our daughter's stuffed duck, lovingly named "Lisa".

I check Twitter occasionally for professional reasons - ignoring an online space doesn't mean it isn't consequential. The difference from a few years ago is stark. My primary news source for years is now full of wild conspiracy theories, overly racist/hateful content, and internet meme garbage.
Something I’ve heard recently from some people who are still active there is that it has gone back to normal or that it’s a functioning platform again, and I don’t think that’s right at all. I just think people have become comfortable with it

I'm horrified by these images. Thank you, Alderperson Fuentes, for standing up for Chicago. My team and I worked with Jessie in 2023 and saw how she turned struggle into motivation for change every day. Today she proved again that the 26th Ward is in good hands.

Just finished @swordsjew.bsky.social's book Wild Faith this morning, then saw this. We've got some real, deep-rooted, problems in this country that I don't think we're in a position to deal with.

I just wouldn't want my, or someone close to me's death used like this.

The political world will take everything if you let it. Here's proof they'll take the memory of you too.

But perhaps that's a fitting end for Kirk - having his family's grief plundered for the best performing email that month
Got a fundraising pitch over text and I have to say I’m puzzled by the plural here.

A free and democratic society cannot silence comedians because the President doesn’t like what they say.

This is an attack on free speech and cannot be allowed to stand.

All elected officials need to speak up and push back on this undemocratic act.

New research shows #DeepSeek suggests less-secure code when it is asked to help groups out of favor with the Chinese government. With its open-source model being adopted widely, this soft influence and hackability could spread. Gift link with email address etc. wapo.st/46jEZrb
AI firm DeepSeek writes less-secure code for groups China disfavors
Research by a U.S. security firm points to the country’s leading player in AI providing higher-quality results for some purposes than others.

If I have any credibility with you from 20 years of reporting on rightwing & fascist movements, please listen when I beg you not to celebrate Charlie Kirk getting shot. Leave aside morality: this isn’t a match in dry grass, it’s a torch. We do not want what this could ignite & we would not win.

Let's talk about training data in AI...
Oh golly. Check out the (likely AI generated) model SHEIN was using to hawk an $11 shirt. Looks familiar, eh?

SHEIN has since taken the link down. But this was real — I’ll link an archived version of the store page below.

I dunno, when you start blaming OpenAI because unwell people did unwell people things, filing massive lawsuits, and waging ap press campaign, this seems the entirely predictable course correction.

You wanted guardrails to ensure mentally ill people can't encounter harmful output, now you got it.

Match the moment for fucks sake. The military is being marched into US cities and this sounds like a bureaucratic disagreement.

Those of us on the ground will never be able to make the case that this is a moment of existential national crisis if leadership refuses to communicate effectively.
Jeffries on Trump planning a military crackdown in Chicago: "We should continue to support local law enforcement and not simply allow Donald Trump to play games with the lives of the American people as part of his effort to manufacture a crisis and create a distraction because he's deeply unpopular"

I just prepped 200 donor prospect calls for a client, including finding phone numbers and writing 1 paragraph bios for each. It took me 45 minutes. While I was eating lunch with my kids.
