A page-a-day calendar for Tuesday June 17, featuring a brown and white Pembroke Welsh Corgi wearing a neckerchief that says “It’s My Birthday”. The text on the calendar says The Smiling Sheepherder The word “Corgi” derives from the ancient Celtic term “kergie” - meaning, what else, “dog”. There are two types of Welsh Corgi: the Pembroke, like Charlie here (the more popular breed), and the Cardigan. The two short and stumpy breeds are different, however, and have completely distinct origins, having been developed separately for thousands of years. The easiest tell between the two is in the tail - the Cardigan’s tail is long and fluffy, while the Pembroke has a sweet round nub.

I saw pics of ppl at Meat Cove during eclipse last year! We haven’t made it that far up yet. I told my husband that next time we visit CB, I want to do Acadian side, Chéticamp, Inverness, etc. I took this at Ingonish Beach and then we headed back down Cabot Trail and stopped at Groovy Goat Soap 😊

It is! Fam and I stayed at View of the Sea Cottages in Big Bras d’Or, and we absolutely loved it. Desperate to go back (we’re in Ontario) 🥲 We also went up Cape Smokey in the gondola, but it was so humid and misty that we could barely see anything 😄
